What Happens at a New Moon Ceremony?

The new moon marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle — a time of darkness, stillness, and potent possibility. In many spiritual traditions, the new moon is considered the most powerful time to plant seeds of intention, to begin again, and to turn inward.

At Women's Ceremony, our new moon gatherings are designed to honor this threshold. We create a space that feels quiet, grounding, and deeply supportive — a place where women can reflect on what they are releasing and what they wish to call in.

A typical new moon ceremony may include: arriving in silence and settling into the space, a grounding meditation to bring awareness into the body, an exploration of the current lunar and seasonal energy, guided intention-setting with journaling, sharing in sacred circle, and a closing ritual such as candle-lighting or a collective breath.

The beauty of working with lunar rhythms is that it gives us a natural framework for reflection. Rather than waiting for New Year's or a major life event to pause and reassess, the moon offers us a monthly invitation to check in with ourselves.

Many women find that after attending a few new moon ceremonies, their relationship with time begins to shift. Life starts to feel less linear and more cyclical — more forgiving, more rhythmic, more aligned with the natural world.

You do not need any prior experience with moon work or ritual to attend. You only need a willingness to slow down and listen.
